Dear Band Parents,
The Columbia Central High School Band and the Columbia Band Boosters are hosting the 40th annual Columbia Invitational Marching Contest (CIMC) on Saturday, September 27, 2014, at Lindsey Nelson Stadium in Columbia. This marching season is also special as we are celebrating the 75th Anniversary of the CHS Band. This marching competition is a major fund raiser for our band. Hosting CIMC is a tremendous amount of work and your help is needed to insure a successful contest.
One of the ways that we generate funds for the band and to cover the costs of CIMC is in selling sponsorships for trophies and advertising space in the Program that is sold during the event. This is a lengthy process and we must do a tremendous amount of work in the month of August to meet deadlines for printing and for trophies to be purchased and received prior to the contest.
We need your help!
We need volunteers to contact previous sponsors and to recruit new sponsors. In addition, I need help picking up trophies, assistance during the presentation of trophies the day of the Contest, placement of banners on the fence, and also invoicing and collecting money. My hope is that someone will learn this process along with me and be willing to take this on during future marching seasons.
Bringing in NEW sponsors is essential. Even if you think your employer will say no, ask them to support the CHS with a sponsorship of a trophy or by taking an Ad in the Program. IT NEVER HURTS TO ASK and prices are reasonable.
Again, this is one of the largest fundraisers for the Band and we need YOUR help! Please contact me as soon as you can if you are able to volunteer in any aspect of this endeavor. Also, PLEASE contact me if you are willing to purchase an Ad or sponsor a trophy. Please see the attached.
