Columbia Symphony BandThe Symphony Band is the premier performing ensemble of the Columbia Band Program and is composed of 9-12 Grade students. Admission into the Columbia Symphony Band is by audition only. The Symphony Band attends the MTSBOA Concert Performance Assessment during the spring semester and performs at least four concerts per year. The Symphony Band will perform at the Tennessee Music Education Association's State Concert Festival in Spring 2019. The Symphony Band performs various styles of music including contemporary compositions, masterworks of wind band literature, transcriptions and much more.

Concert BandThe Concert Band is composed of 9th-12th grade students. The Concert Band performs at the MTSBOA Concert Performance Assesment during the spring semester and performs at least four concerts per year. The Concert Band will perform at the 2019 Tennessee Music Education Association State Concert Festival. The Concert Band performs many styles of music including modern compositions, standards of concert band literature and transcriptions.

Columbia Jazz BandThe Jazz Band is in its second year at CHS and meets after school on Thursdays from 3:00-4:30. The Jazz Band is composed of students in grades 9-12 and is open to all students. The Jazz Band literature encompasses several styles of music ranging from swinging jazz standards to spicy Latin sambas.

Columbia Woodwind EnsembleThe Woodwind Ensemble is composed of woodwind players from the Symphony Band. Acceptance into this ensemble is by audition only and features the top players on each woodwind instrument. The group performs original music written for woodwind ensemble, arrangements of traditional literature, and special transcriptions that fit the unique instrumentation of the players.

Indoor Percussion EnsembleThe Columbia Indoor Percussion Ensemble just completed its 2019 season with their program “As Seasons Turn”. The music was composed by Jeremy Smith and featured music that outlined the four seasons (Winter, Summer, Spring, and Fall). The ensemble performed in the Scholastic Concert A Class of the Southeastern Color Guard Circuit and was awarded as TN State Champions and gold medalists at the SCGC Championships that were held at Diddle Arena on the beautiful campus of Western Kentucky University.
